Manchester City striker Giorgos Samaras says Euro 2004 Champions Greece were ready for the tough test against Turkey and gave it everything to achieve qualification to the 2008 tournament.

A delighted Samaras said. "We weren't nervous going into the game,"

"We gave it everything we had. Our plan was to go for a draw or score on the break.

"It got easier for us as the night went on."

Defender Yiourkas Seitaridis added: "We secured qualification and beat a very tough team,"
