Greek sports minister Yiannis Ioannides has spoken of his delight to have seen the football team qualify for Euro 2008 following their 1-0 victory over Turkey.

"My heart was pounding for most of the game. The players had a great game, they played well and courageously," said Ioannides.

"I'm overjoyed. It's been 55 years since we've beaten Turkey away. It's a big day ... Now, we have to play well in the European Championship."
